So... Despite the economic downturn of 2009, my life this year has been AWESOME! listed below is a summary of our fantastic year!:
-- Blake went snow boarding for the first time EVER
-- We went to Disney Land for Chantels Birthday
-- Got engaged on February 12
-- Bought engagement ring on February 14th (Valentines day)
-- Got married on May 28th
-- Headed to Cancun, Mexico for a week for our honeymoon (week full of snorkling, kayaking, swimming in the beach, swimming in the pool, eating at McDonalds, jet skiing, rappelling, zipline, hiking ancient Myan pyramids, biking, caving, swimming with dolphins, riding dolphins, petting sharks and sting rays, sightseeing, etc)
-- Went camping at the cabin in Joes Valley with friends
-- Went camping at Pitsburg Lake up AF Canyon
-- Went hiking and camping up Snell Canyon (canyon about house in Spanish Fork) and saw a bear on the way up
-- Went four wheeling up Reeder Canyon (Joes Valley) and almost got in a wreck with some other crazy four wheelers. But on the bright side, we experienced the most beautiful ride that one could hope for.
-- Hiked the Black Box in the San Rafael desert and got stranded in it overnight. it was a great adventure which story shall be shared for years to come.
-- Attended time at the Merrell Reunion and had Chantel play her first round of Frisbee Golf.
-- Attended the Garbe Reunion and make the largest straw tower!
-- Attended the Wilberg Reunion and help set up a shower house.
-- We had our brand new house built and finished by July. we moved in for Blakes Birthday.
-- We became sunbeam teachers
-- Chantel began a new job as a Teachers Aide for the School of the Deaf and Blind.
-- Blake survived 4 layoffs at work and feels SUPER grateful that he still has a job.
-- And to begin the new year right; we went camping in the cabin for new years day!
All in all, Chantel and I have had a Wonderful year in 2009! The best of our lives! May 2010 prove to be even better!!! We have much thanks to give to all of our wonderful friends and family that help make our life so wonderful!

Engagement Pictures
Chantel and I have a friend--Jeff Johnson-- who has been wanting to practice some photography; So we have had 3 fun filled days of taking pictures. StOrY TiMe
Once upon a time... Blake was attending a party at Andrea Seely (now Lawson) home. Were playing games outside on the grass and eating little cheesecake squares. This party was different though. there was a BEAUTIFUL new girl sitting with us named Chantel. After the party was over my friend Derek Cluff and I went in to home teach Andrea, and to my great delight Chantel stayed there as well. (Andrea had just come back from a trip to the Philippines and was going to show off the pictures) We had a great visit and afterwords I kept on commenting on how CUTE Chantel was!! Derek Agreed.
A few weeks went by and I called my friend Andrea for Chantel's phone number. I remember exactly where I was when I called Chantel the first time. I was at work, standing in the hall and when she answered the phone I asked if she rememberd me from a few weeks ago, and if she would like to go to a move that weekend. She coudn't go to the movie, but I had a back up plan for the next weekend. I had tickets to a a-capella concert in SLC and she accepted the invite for that date.
The Sunday after I asked Chantel on the date, I saw this really Cute girl at Church. I turned to my friend Derek and even commented: "who is that cute girl sitting on the end of our row?" he was like: "Isn't that your date for Friday?". I turned to back and said Chantels name out loud to get her attention. To my great sup rise and pleasure it was her :D the my date for friday. After Chruch that day I got up the courage to ask her to go for a walk with me that afternoon. We met up around 7 and walked around her neighborhood for a few hours and talked about lots of things and laughed lots too :) It was wonderful!!!
A few days later I got up to courage to ask her to dinner before she headed to Massage School, which she was attending at the time. Dinner was at Hogi Yogi in Spanish fork. It was simple and nice and I remember when we left how I wanted to hug her. LOL ;0 it was an awkward hug... but it was worth it. Oh the things boys feel when they are falling in love with a beautiful girl.
Our first "official" date was a lot better than I expected. I was so nervous doubling with my friend Derek cuz I thought that he would start to like Chantel and she would fall for him, and not me :( But to my surprise that did not happen. We had a great time at the concert, and dinner was fun, and after all that we went to Lehi and played in a park. Chantel proposed to run though the sprinklers... SO WE DID :D and we enjoyed playing on the swings and things too! all in all the our first date was a lot of fun, and I couldn't believe that a girl as gorgeous as Chantel was actually showing a little interest in me.
That was the start of a casual dating relationship for the summer. Chantel had a missionary out, who I learned about from the get go. She didn't know that I knew about him, but I did. toward the end of the summer the reason we broke up was largely because of this missionary. none the less We went on lots of fun dates during the summer of '06. We went to:

Movies at my house
Dinners at Panda Express

Sat and enjoyed the evening talking in a park
Sunday walk in the Park by my house
and more...
The year was a great one :D a little confusing cuz I had to "fight off the missionary" but it was fun nonetheless!
When school started up again, and Chantel moved to Provo, her and I mutually decided to "be friends", and good friends we were. I would still come and visit every once in a while and texts and calls to each other happened on a consistent basis. throughout the next 2 1/2 years Chantel and I developed a solid friendship. I was aware of the men she was dating and I was comfortable in talking about the girls I was dating. When we would see each other it wasn't awkward or uncomfortable... I still thought she was gorgeous, and it was fun talking with her and catching up with life. over the years, we would hang out occasionally. Chantel and I went to Jazz game, and I would attend her birthday parties where we would play laser tag. she would come camping with us and when her and her friends would like to go camping she would call me for help in planning it :D She even came with me when I went to Luke and Marys Family reunion this year for my 25th birthday. There we went horse back riding, 4 wheeling, canoeing, Geo cashing, etc... We would also hang out at ward functions a lot and talk often at parties that we were attending and/or hosting. She also came to my cabin toward the end of the summer and we went jet skiing and such there. it too was one of the funnest camping trips i have had and even though Chantel and I wern't dating then, I had so much fun with her then :D
so... yeah, beginning this summer I realized again how much fun I have when am with her, and our friendship really began to get stronger. all in all, the circumstances were such that by November we were both starting to fall in love with each other again and... yeah! Since October we have been busy with lots of fun activities:

So... after all of that on February 12, 2009 I propose to her. I talked with her parents on friday february 6th while she was at a girls night. I then asked for her parents blessing and they were really excited about the idea :D that was a really cool expirence. So, then I started the process of proposing. I purchased a silver ring with CZ diamonds and when I came on Thursday the 12th, I could not wait any longer to propose. I was gonna do in on friday the 13th, but I couldn't wait another night! anyway, on Monday I started sending her flowers with notes attached to them. the first day she received 1 rose. second day was 2 roses, then 4, then 8, and then 16. with every flower there was a card with a love note ;) In every note I would find a way to incorporate the words: CHANTEL, WILL, YOU, MARRY, ME. Day one had the word CHANTEL in CAPS, the second day WILL was in CAPS, the next day YOU, then, MARRY, and finally ME on the last day.
so... on Thursday I scheduled a trip to Manti to do baptisms and after our experience there, while we were walking out I Proposed at the temple! It was awesome and she was so cute and excited and kept on saying yes, and asked "is this real life" :) It was so CUTE!
Now, we are engaged and planning a wedding! Life could not be much better :D On valentines day, sadly her fiance did not get her flowers, or chocolate... but we did get her the most georgouse ring EVER! It really is awesome and made for a fantastic Valentines Day!
